Beautiful Glee

It isn’t for a day or a week, but half her life she has been going through strenuous pangs and toils, and still it is vividly in the reach of my eyes, with age old ragged bag, she is walking in her late 40’s to and fro with the hope to earn even a single penny that would add up to the bountiful sum. This is no greed, no dissatisfaction or desire for the opulence, but for the colossal debt she is bound to. She is hugely indebted not for the self service, but to ease her offspring of destitute and give them the pleasure of normal childhood. Debtor she is to others, but embodiment of honesty. She would say “Without paying of the due, no peace I can avail even afterlife!”
At young age, as a damsel, she looked stunningly beautiful with glowing unripe countenance and her physique exquisitely shaped like a model today with which she could have insinuated herself in the life of a millionaire and owned affluent material possessions. Alas, misfortune took a toll on her life when she was bonded to a drunkard. With the years of hardship and sweats, she lost the softness and sensual fragrance of her skin, her divine beauty concealed with wrinkles, and her model like figure remained no more attractive. But still, she has that mystique with which anyone could be charmed and enticed. Softness in her speech, kindness in her soul and generosity in her conduct, she is one of a kind, perhaps the surrogate of the goddess.
She had first child (a boy) at 18 and now she is 46 with four energetic broods, intellectually sound and physically beautiful. For well disciplined and soft-spoken as she, neighbors regard them with respect and admiration, perchance, the reason she always has smile on her face in spite of misery. What can a mother expect more than the decency in her child?
As a spiritual way of saying, “Goodness only befalls unto good people,” after her disentanglement from obnoxious alcoholic husband, she is now married to another man who is divine in personality, devoted as husband and affectionate as patriarch. Albeit no children are of his semen, he has no lesser love and care for them as his own. Elder two are already earning their own breads and the third is only few miles away from the fortune. And the last has bright future ahead.
Seeing the fruits ripe of the seeds she sowed with the unremitting investment, I could perceive the joy in her, proud at the most, with those aged lips stretched into big cheerful smile on her wrinkled face. I am delighted for her and pretty relieved, for there lays a peace and ecstasy ahead of her to relish, regardless of uncertainty and unpredictability of our life.
P.S. Let no grief swab the smile of our mother; beauty and dignity of her soul we shall always uphold.
